Change Your Mind – it’s not that Hard!

I was hangin’ out at Starbucks last Friday afternoon with my friend Rachell. We were gabbing about a lot of stuff and I don’t remember which of a dozen topics we were on when she said,

“When life happens, I change my mind.”

Ohmigosh!

Wait.

What?

Really?

Yes, really.

No.

It’s not that simple.

Oh, yes, it is.

We’ve heard it a lot, from Norman Vincent Peale to The Secret. When life hands you lemons, make lemonade.

It seems trite. It seems cliche.

It’s also true.

I recently had a personal experience where this really applies. I had tried to look at the situation from all possible angles, including trying to make lemonade (or at least wine out of sour grapes) but I wasn’t succeeding. Something about the way Rachell put it though, well, it changed my mind.

Clarity.
